The SkyView and ISS Transit applications do not collect or transmit any user’s personal information. No personal information is used, stored, secured or disclosed by services this application works with.
The SkyView and ISS Transit applications do store user defined values of latitude and longitude in the Windows-10 Appdata directory.
This is to enable the data to be re-loaded when next re-starting the app, so the user can continue using the app without having to re-enter this data. This latitude-longitude data may or may not correspond to the user's location, either past, present or future. These locations simply depend on what the user has entered or selected. This data is kept within the user's PC in the Appdata directory and is not transmitted elsewhere.
Third Party services
The SkyView and ISS Transitt applications can access data from the internet. At present, the values of TLE (Two-Line-Elements) for Earth Satellites are downloaded from http://www.celestrak.com/NORAD/elements, when the download is option is selected.
This TLE download is a manual process and is not done automatically. A notification is presented when this option is selected, at which point the user can decide to cancel.
The mapping data is from Microsoft's Bing Map's service, and is downloaded in real-time when required. The elevation, country name and country code data from a selected location is also derived by Microsoft's Bing Map's service.
These apps do not capture any statistical information. However, it seems that Microsoft themselves do capture some form of statistical data for apps run Windows-10, but this is outside of and independent from these apps.
